FAILURE: Call of Duty 4 Beta Sign Ups (Lotto)

I didn't make it because I was too slow (aka, not tenacious enough to sit in front of the comp and wait for the damn page to load up).

Damn me for not trying harder but the site was down when I tried--and to this day it's sluggy as hell. By the time the damn thing loaded up, it was too late. DAMN YOU FAN BOIS!! And damn you Infinity Ward for planning this after I get back from vacation!!

Apparently as soon as the beta sign up went active at 5:00 PST, shortly after the site crashed. Hopefully this will not happen next time as there will be a "second wave" sign up soon.

The Lotto:

Alright guys, so here’s the deal. The Friends and Family portion of the beta has been going great, and we’re ready to let in the early first wave of CharlieOscarDelta members to help us start testing it out further. Since this is earlier than expected we’re going to do a special First Wave Beta Lotto to determine who will get an early chance at the Beta, don’t worry though, there are going to be many more waves of people let in after this. We decided to do email lotto so that it’s completely fair to all who enter.

Here’s how it’s going to work. Below we have an email you will need to send to us. Copy and paste the following email EXACTLY, fill in the answers, and send it to us. The lotto email will be open for 24 hours and that’s it. Then we’re shutting the sucker down, again, I remind you that if you don’t get in this first wave, DO NOT WORRY! This is just the first of many chances to get into the beta.

That’s it, that’s all you have to do to be eligible for the first wave. Copy and paste the text below into an email to firstwavelotto@beta.infinityward.com, fill in the answers and send it in. Make sure you copy and paste the text below EXACTLY otherwise your email may be lost. Now here’s the email:

Hey Guys;

Don't worry if you didn't get into this very early small first wave. This was just an impromptu small batch of invites because Friends and Family was so well we wanted to get more people online, we have a lot more ways to get in, especially for CharlieOscarDelta.com members, there will be a huge sign-up for you guys later in the week. It's all in waves, and the waves aren't far apart. So don't feel left out guys, we obviously couldn't get everyone who submitted into this one, but there are plenty more to come.

There is going to be plenty of chances, and plenty of spaces available in the Beta. If you guys have any questions you know how to reach me or just post here.

I can't say this enough though guys, if you weren't included in this very early, very small first batch of invites, don't throw in the towel just yet. We will be pulling from this list a few times, but most importantly there's still the massive Beta Sign-up via Charlieoscardelta.com coming in the very near future.

This was just a very early, impromptu first wave batch since we felt Friends and Family was doing so well we could let a small group of public in early. So there are a lot more tokens going out there in the future through a variety of different mediums (the largest being Charlieoscardelta.com members) as well as ways for our international players to get involved.

As for me, I'm heading home now.... (I miss my dog)... and to play the Beta on my 47" HDTV... see you in hell DP Castle!

If you check now, the official beta sign up "clicky" sign up thing still shows, "Coming Soon" too. *sad*

I'll prolly just wait for November 5th, 2007....
