Turbine, Inc. announced today Dungeons & Dragons Online®: Eberron Unlimited™ (DDO Unlimited), a free digital upgrade for Dungeons & Dragons Online®: Stormreach™ will now launch on September 9, 2009 in North America.

“We’ve had a tremendous response to DDO Unlimited from the players and press who are participating in our beta program,” said Fernando Paiz, Executive Producer of DDO Unlimited. “We’ve been holding a series of live events as part of the beta program and have seen an unprecedented level of participation from players. RIP: Lord of the Rings Online

Today I uninstalled my 7 day LOTRO trial. Not that I made it to the end of the 7 days mind you, but it's not like I was going to go back. any time soon. It's not like I didn't try to give it a chance--heck, I forced myself to log in three times to behold the gorgeousness that was me (below):



But alas, the recycled DDO hairstyles and ugly faces were not enough to force me to want to suffer some more through the horrible running/jumping animation and clunky ass combat system. I actually think DDO had better graphics (that was bloom effect city), and since I played the months up to that combat changes, the combat in DDO was more fun as well (I went through like two mouses during those months).

Anyhoo, since I played a halfling rogue main (2 10 clerics, 1 10 bard and a palo) during DDO, I wanted to make a hobbitz bandit. However, it was far to ugly so I scrapped that idea and tried to make a human woman instead........but that turned out to be even uglier. Which forced me to play an elf last resort (damn you for not having hot dwarven biotches). I picked the DPS class because I normally play priests and wanted to get into the action right away.

And boy, what exciting *snore* action it was. Clunk clunk clunk. Stab. I think I almost died trying to kill a half dead goblin with my uber florentine wanna be style (at least in PotBS I can equip a gun in that second slot for pwnage)...and worse, and this is what really killed it for me...I jumped down like, TWO STAIRS looking like a stuffed turkey and apparently broke my leg, forcing me to limp around. WTF!? Please, I need feather fall trinketz plz! Mummified batz!!?? Boot of Feather Fall!? HALPPPPPPPPPPP.

Sigh. So at least for me, LOTRO loses out to AOA because it's terriblenous isn't as terrible. Although, if "Age of Armor" had a jump button it would win, literally, by leaps and bounds. (Oh, knee slappah.)
