Right off the bat, I think the game plays worse than it did in Closed Beta but I've only put a couple hours into the OB version so far (most of which was spent trying to grow back my hands which would show up doing character creation but not in game...

So naturally, after that was all done, I treated myself to a facial!! (In PW of course--since I had gotten a transfiguration scroll from some quest taking up valuable loot space in my inventory.)

I never though the day (night?) would come, but alas, my beloved cooch is gone. Gone are the days of doing cartwheels and flashing my junk in ways that even the Grand Poomba of Cooch Britney Spears would envy.


But I hope it's only temporary and I that one day soon, I'll get my beloved slutfit back. (And so hope the thousands of Malaysians playing beside me.)

A Moar Perfecter Perfect World? (But Not For Vista Users)

I read this post on the PW International Site about using a proxy server to alleviate lag issues from pinging about 300 to the Malaysian PW server. I've installed and set everything up according to the guide but wasn't able to test it myself yet in game but I will tell you though that when I logged in to set up a sexy cat stall, I logged in a lot faster than I normally do.

I shall experiment in game this after noon!

p.s. I think this shit works!!

Perfect World: Golden Manta Ray (Watch out Steve Irwin)

Rek got his Manta Ray mount today and in PW fashion, it was delightfully gaudy and awesomely bad.

However, the best part is when some guy was watching us take pictures and fell into the water and couldn't get out. So naturally, we called him fat and laughed.


Soon I'll have no choice but to get those terrible butterfly wings so I can look even dumber than evah. Don't be jealous.

Perfect World: Cubi Cubi Cubis!!

I've finally done it.

I was going to hold out and all since you don't really need to pay real money for a game like PW but I did. That's right, Daddy (Mommy?) Warbucks here spent SIX DORRAHS on PW for 20 Cubi Gold. *gasp*!! And what does that buy me?

I bought a bunch of hierograms (like an auto-pot) and some extra inventory space from the Item Mall bringing me to a grand total of...11 cubis! OMGZ!! I spent $3.60 for 40+ hours of entertainment so far (damn you XFIRE, you reveal how much of a complete loser I am.)

I must say though, I used this place called OffGamers to buy the Cubi Gold (it sounds like Kublai Khan, but its the official PW Item Mall currency), and that place was fuckin' fast with their service. Sure, I had to wait for some guy from Malaysia (maybe) to call me on my cell phone to make sure that it was a legit purchase, but within 5 min I had my precious leprechaun gold. (And no, I didn't buy gay ass "fashion" clothing.)

I think the next time I'll spend money on this game is for the mounts/wings. Thank goodness I don't drink coffee! For the price of a Starbucks Latte I could have like 50 fuckin' Cubi Coins.

And p.s. I will be purchasing a Snow Bear mount because of how absolutely ridiculous it looks. And after that (if I ever get that high before TCOS or AOC come out) the elephant!

Perfect World: Updates and OB Soon!?

Greetings Perfect World Fans! We have finally received word from Beijing that the long awaited patch is ready! Between 7pm and 9pm Malaysian time tonight the patch download process will begin. Once all files have been received the test server will be updated and tomorrow (20th Nov) will be dedicated to testing the patch as throughly as we possibly can. If (and I stress here 'IF') no further bugs are found then the patch will be put on the patch servers to be made available for download. Whatever the case may be, there will be a post made at the end of tomorrow the 20th of November or 21st of November. The posted update will indicate the results of the test and hopefully, if all goes well, the long awaited Open Beta date will be announced. Please keep in mind that the announcement of Open Beta will occur assuming there are no major bugs.

Dear all, Here are the latest updates: 01. Setup of the Delphi Server is now in its final stages. We successfully tested the server today and it is running smoothly. 02. No one is able to duplicate your character name on other servers. Only one character name is avaliable within the 2 servers. 03. There is no Update from China regarding the patch. Perfect World English will be delayed awhile, this situation has occurred due to our developer discovering a major bug during their testing period. They are working on it to fix this major issue.

24th Oct update:
Thank you for your patience and continued support of the game. As Devil had posted, the game did not enter Open Beta on the 19th October because it was decided that the lag/disconnect issues faced by many international players needed to be addressed.

We expect the latest patch from China to arrive on Friday the 26th of October, it will be extensively tested on Monday the 29th of October and we hope to release the patch at the end of that day IF no major bugs are found and the patch is determined to be stable. Our target is to begin Open Beta before the end of the month.

The 29th of October is NOT the release date.

Perfect World: First Impressions

Wow.

I'm actually impressed. I mean, come on, given the quality of F2P games out there I was actually quite pleasant surprised with PW so far. Well, other than the forced ass C-POP piped in telling me to "step into a perfect world; a place where you'll be fleeeee."

I actually got stuck in character creation (like most girls I suspect) for half an hour--I mean, even Oblivion didn't allow you to fix just "one" eye. Yeah yeah, for the most part, people don't look that different once you're on screen, and you can't make yourself fat, but at least you know you had a huge hand at making your avatar the fiercest and most gorgeous you could.

My stupid ass character:



Questing so far is pretty straight forward. Kill X many things. Collect X many things by killing X many things. Talk to Y to collect X. Combat also is 1, 2, 1, 2, with "Asian" style attacks. But I gotta admit, jumping 50 feet into the air is pretty awesome. I haven't gotten around to flying yet, but I did see someone who was and it looked pretty neat.

Oh, and this one has random mobs that blow up into a gazillion lootz! HURRAY!

Perfect World: Marriage System

It's one of the hot topics on the Official Perfect World INTL boards, and now it's been implemented. That's right! Now you and yours can seal your fates together (whilst looking lifeless may I add) in a F2P Asian grinder game.

According to the article, the only requirements for marriage are:

1) Players must be in a hetero couple.
2) Players must be over level 20.

*snort*

Now, I laff but yes, at one shameful point in my life I was married in a game, and a MUD to boot. But I didn't settle just for anyone. No, not me, for I managed to snag one of the Devs of the game with my uber RP skills (that's right bitches, I married up.) Then during the ceremony (dead creatures every where since we were a "Chaos" couple), he typed /k instead of /kiss and ended up doing like a bajillion points of damage to me killing me on the spot.

Needless to say, that didn't last.

Cubinet Interactive is proud to announce that the Perfect World English Edition (Closed Beta) will launch on the 28th of September 2007!

The Game Client is now available for download via BitTorrent.

In conjunction with Closed Beta and to help us better test the Client and Server, Cubinet will be holding a leveling competition.

7:30am , 28th September 2007 till 4am, 12th October 2007(+8GTM)

Notes: There are 18 major rewards (1st to 3rd place for each class, 6 classes) and an unlimited number of minor rewards of 3 million in game coin for each player that attains lv 49 or higher. Note that a player may receive one reward only, thus a recipient of a major reward may not also claim a minor reward. All rewards will be delivered to the account holder during Open Beta.

Major Rewards:

Highest (1st place) level player for each class will receive 10 million in game coin & 1500cubit
Next highest (2nd place) level player for each class will receive 8 million in game cold & 1000cubit
3rd highest (3rd place) level player for each class will receive 6 million in game coin & 500cubit

Any character that reaches or surpasses lv49 will receive 3 million gold.
