When you hear "Call of Duty," the first thing that comes to mind is probably blowing Nazis out of their Gerry bunkers with a well placed grenade. HOWEVAAHHHH, "Call of Duty 4" leaves WWII behind and gives us Black Hawks! WAHOOO!!! Yes, the next "Call of Duty" will be "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" developed by Infinity Ward, and from the stuff I read from E3 and the images on its official site, it's looks like it's gonna' be a bitchin' frag fest.
If you have an XBOX 360, there will be an open public beta coming up (in August) which I'll be downloading. Yup, I must be pretty excited about it if I'm willing to download a stupid console FPS.
At any rate, check out some vids here in the meanwhile.
Modern Warfare looks to be a November 2007 release which would make it the perfect early Christmas gift for moi!

Hellgate: London
There's more than enough buzz about Crysis from all over the Net including myself, but another game I'm also really looking forward to is Hellgate: London, an MMOFPS from Flagship Studios with help from Namco (TEKKEN DRINKIN' GAME ANYONE!? As an aside, being the only one that didn't drink, I always won those nights. WAHAHAHA.) Flagship's basically the original crew behind Diablo, and this'll be their first effort after splitting from Blizz proper.
Rather than give a full, text description of the story, check out the following link for some movies. There be some hot bitches, some old guy with really really nice hair (better than Johnny Depp!), demons and gore. *purr* Anyhoo, I recommend the full introduction: Hellgate Official Videos.
Also, if you check the weapons page, they've posted vids of each weapon in action. *le rawr* So many ways to cut demons down...
FOR THE LIVINGaaaHHhhhh!

Tampa Highway & BF2142 Beta Patch 1.40
A guildie and I broke down and installed the 1.40 Beta for BF2142 a while ago and it was a fuckin' blast for tank whores like myself. But before you go off and download it, beware!! If you don't back up your BF folders before hand, you'll have to do a fresh reinstall and repatch (twice if you have Northern Strike) in order to get back into regular 2142 play. Of course, with EA Link, it doesn't take that long, but I read the bitchin' on the official EA forums about it and hey, all I can say is, we were warned.
Anyhoo, Highway Tampa is Shuhia Taiba on vehicle crack. We played a couple hours of conquest and first off, it looks like the game's received a graphic update (? It was like 3 AM in the morning.) The graphics look a ton sharper, although it might just be the pretty skyline and snow fall in the middle of all the sand, the map is HUGE, and there's about 3x as many tanks and walkers as Verdun Conquest (which right now, is my fave tank whoring map.)
As for the firing rate increases for the Clark, I didn't get a chance to use it so I don't know, and I couldn't tell any big different with the Voss for the few minutes I had it whilst raiding an outpost--of course, if you spawn anywhere in Highway Tampa with any kit but Engineer, you're asking for either 1) hours of hiding/running away from tanks or 2) a quick, painful death.
Can't wait to see to see this go live!
To try it out for yourself, visit: EA's Official BF 2142 Site
Just remember to back it up or waste 10 minutes reinstalling.

Le Chevalier D'Eon
I recently watched this stylish series based on Ubukata Tow's historical fantasy and it's one of the few anime I've enjoyed in quite a while. It's a departure from the run of the mill, big titties, big swords/guns anime, and features instead a healthy dose of French history (D'Eon was quite real, although certainly not as pretty as the animated Leon), politics, killer poetry (literally) and just a wee bit of cross dressing.
Here's the opening dialogue:
"In the beginning was the Word. Those were the days when King Louis XV ruled... Versailles shone in all its glory, and upon the course of the Seine, flourished the city of Paris, pervaded by beauty and chaos. Time changes everything. Only the words remain. That is why I, D'Eon de Beaumont, tell the story of myself, and my comrades who believed in the spirit of France. I shall relate the events which ended an era, and of the woman's body found floating in the Seine. Her name was Lia de Beaumont. My elder sister."For more info on release dates and such, check our ANN's mini info page here.
