Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Public Beta News!

**You have to be registered on the site to view the Forums**

Per CharlieOscarDelta:

Hey Everyone;

I wanted to give you an official update on the status of the Beta and most importantly clear up some confusion in the forums.

Later this month, in August, the Public Beta will go live; information on what will be included in the beta, how to participate in the beta, and Intel regarding weapons, maps, and perks you'll be able to use once in the beta will be on an official Beta page which will launch later this week here on Charlieoscardelta.com.

As for who is eligible for the Beta, there was some confusion caused this week stating that the Beta would be US-exclusive, however that statement was premature, because we have not finalized final details on who would be involved in the beta at this point.

In order to get started, and kick off the beta we will begin in the United States, but are looking to go International and currently sorting out those details.

I will continue to keep you everyone informed on updates and new information regarding the beta as it becomes available. Thanks guys.

HURRAY!!

2Moons Open Beta: First Impressions

So, last night, a guildie and I downloaded the "2Moons" beta. The file itself is about 900 MBs and took an hour to download from Gamer's Hell with a crappy 250 K/S rate, with an extra few minutes to install and patch. I used my pre-existing Acclaim login and was thrown into the game, which starts out windowed (but you can change the options later), and into the horrifically bland customization area, by which I mean, the biggest customization choice you'll have to make is what server to play on. That's right, you want to be a guy? You play knight, warrior, or summoner. You want to be a girl? You play magician, segnale (rogue-ish class) or hunter.

Segnale the demon bitch it is!

And into the game we go. Now, remember, "2Moons" is based on "Dekaron" a successful Korean grinder (but which F2Ps aren't?) that Acclaim's re-structuring and translating. There is WASD movement (ZOMGZ!), but for the real Asian game feel, you can use the point to click mode if you want. As with most Asian F2Ps, jack up those graphics of yours for maximum effect...and don't forget to turn on the blood and screams:

The character graphics aren't anything special, but the music, the backgrounds (with full bloom) and screams ain't bad (especially since it's free). With movement type B, you click once to select a mob/target and twice to auto-attack/interact. For items and skill, it's F1-F3 to use items, and the 1-9 keys for special moves. There is an auto-pot function which you can select in the OTHER tab under options.

The interface is clean and the help function...is actually helpful. For the few hours I played it, it was pretty fun (especially since I haven't hit the grind), and here's why:

THE PROS:

1) Fishing. Lemme tell you something about this. You really need to be awake to fish because those fuckers fight back. And guess what, if you lose, the game tells you--and I quote: "The fish got away because it was stronger than you, YOU PUSSY." Shock!! Tear!! I also got called a fucker by the game because of my sorry fishing skills--but I persevered, and finally caught myself some fish (which act as potions so you don't have to pay for them.) Fishing is not for the faint hearted in this game. Or those who don't want to be called pussy fuckers. *cry*

2) Splatter. Grow stronger and your targets seem to blow up. At first, you might just take a chunk out of your creature when you kill it, but later on, the critter blows up into multiple chunks. *purr*

3) The ghetto booties. The guildie I played with was very impressed with the ass on the Segita Hunter. I mean, it's a metal thong. I thought "Rappelz" had some skimptastic armour, but these bitches got armour floss. I found some armour for his character and basically they took what little there was covering the ass and put it on the sides.

Now the uglies:

CONS:

1) I didn't get this, but my guildie had some problems with known bugs involving "unknown logins" or "wrong passwords." He sent a note into Acclaim Help and I guess this was fixed pretty quickly.

2) Lack of customization. As in, there's none. Armour, faces, hair, nothing. You get one choice. THE END. I don't know if this will be changed in release, but checking the Dekaron website, it doesn't look like they have any customization either.

3) You know the grind's coming up...not in the first few hours...but it sure is coming up...but really, my expectations weren't that high since it's an Asian F2P after all.

So, yeah, if you don't have any games you're playing now, give it a go. It's not revolutionary, but it's a mindless distraction in a "Dungeon Runners" sort of way, and thanks to Acclaim's involvement, it's so much better in terms of translation than "Silk Road Online," or "Voyage Century Online." Perhaps you'll get berated by the Fishing guy too, that dirty pussy.

p.s. For some reason, they censored the word, "piss" to "p*ss." Now, I don't know about you, but in a game proliferated with "fucks" "pussies" and "shit," that's a little...hypocritical?

2Moons Open Beta Begins! July 30th, 2007

Okay, so I'm a little slow. Anyhoo, to learn more, visit:

http://2moons.acclaim.com

You'll need to make an account (no caps), download the game (I recommend Gamer's Hell), and pway.

Per Wikipedia:

The game is an adaptation of Korean MMORPG Dekaron by Gamehi for the North American market, featuring a new story line by Henry Jones. The closed beta testing ended March 7th, 2007.

But don't worry! WASD has been implemented. I'm gonna give it a try since...well, since I'm a loser.

See you on there!

Jessica Biel in the New Street Fighter Movie (2008)!!!???

Source:

Rotten Tomatoes

I know this is old news to some, but it's news to me about the possibility of...Jessica Biel in the new Street Fighter Movie...that's supposed to be about Chun Li? Maybe they'll give Biel the old slant eyes and colour her hair "laven brack" like they did with all those Caucasian actresses in "South Pacific" or the "Flower Drum Song"? WTF!?

Look, I saw Blade Trinity and Biel is alright. She is a pretty hot bitch--I can admit these things--if you don't look at her face that much. But does she has Chun Li's thighs? I think not. You could kill a man (or two) with Chun Li's ham hocks. Actually, you could probably kill an elephant. Then again, I suppose I'd prefer Biel to that skinny bitch from "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"/"Transporter"/every other movie that needs a token asian bitch except for "Die Hard 4."

Or maybe they'll make Biel into Cammy and allow her to butcher the British accent again like she did in "The Prestige." (But if you ask me, Kylie Minogue still looks good so I suppose she could make a cameo in the new movie though I think in SF II Lore, Cammy's younger than Chun Li.)

Anyhoo, that was my random rant for the day. Don't even get me started about the rumour involving Jessica Biel playing the new Red Sonja. I would rather see Chyna Doll in that role--at least then it would be train-wreckingly good. Speaking of which, I think VH1 is coming out with a new series called, "Celebrity Rehab" starring Chyna amongst other train wrecks. *purr* I love VH1!!

Age of Conan: Theatrical Trailer E3 2007

When I first saw this a few weeks back, I couldn't help but get really excited again for the game (despite not liking Conan's voice), as I've been for over a year now (especially the part with the arm.) BUT...then I remember how loopy I was over Vanguard way back when, how I almost screamed some ears off in TeamSpeak when our guild was invited to participate in Closed Beta, and how I (we) taunted one of our members for weeks because he somehow missed the invite. Then, I sit back and wonder...did the game suck because I hyped it too much? Or did it suck because it was so ugly, buggy, boring and so not 3rd Gen. (The only 3rd gen part about it was that it was EQ III.)

So I've decided to chill out a bit about this game, especially after some of the articles released about choppy game play even on a high end, gaming machine (which, currently, I don't have--it's good, but it ain't high end,) and what anti-fanbois call the suspicious lack of "new information" being released.

...I'll still check in on the forums though...
..And I'll still download all the videos...
.And most likely I'll pre-order it...*cough cough*

[Thinks about the arm thing...]

Then again, Funcom's had a lot of experience compared to Sigil though (Funcom is responsible for "Anarchy Online," and the "Longest Journey," games) so maybe...just maybe, AoC will chase my MMO blues away!!

Watch out! Future bear shaman in the hizzouse!!

WAHAHAHAH.

I fail at being not hopeful. *sigh*

BF2142 Server Review: Team Phoenix -X- Titan/Conquest Mix 24/7

The first time I played on their servers was about a month back. Joined a teamwork squad with one of their newer members who was really nice to me and invited =HP= to come play with them anytime we wanted to (prolly because of my uber repair skills--that's right! I fixed his walker! Take that!) Yay.

So anyhoo, we've been visiting at least twice a week and so far they've been really stable, has a good number of teamwork squads and a lot less Frog/Bunny Hopping than I've seen on many other servers. It's a 32 man, 10 reserve, Titan and Conquest server, and while on weekends it's usually full, I haven't seen it full as often on the weekdays. Haven't seen any admin abuse, and they actually kick "in name only" commanders (the ones that take commander on Titan, fly around, never point out troop movement or drop supplies.)

See you there! And keep an eye out for =HP= Joizee...just don't kill her because I'm trying to work on my stupid ass K/D ratio (I have a problem with living.)

I Love the Ganz!!

Just got done playing Titan mode on Titan Rape today (home of the Negative Approach guys--very stable server/nice teamwork squad/thank you for not banning me) and whilst defending hallway 1, my love for the Ganz was renewed. I admit, at first when I unlocked the Ganz months ago, I hated it, opting for the Bianchi instead. I've heard a few people complain about it as well at first, but don't give up on Ganzy. Give him a chance! He's not that great on the move, but set up on your tum tum and you can't beat it for dependability, consistency and hotness.

Ahh! There's very little in BF that beats mowing down Titan attacker after attacker with the help of Sensy, the Sentry Gun and Blippie, the portable infantry sensor. <3 You guys are the best. *swoon* Almost better than shooting a guy in the face with the Rorsch. *swoon x 2* Of course, nowhere near as blissful as killing a "sneaky" engineer tossing motion mines around the corner with motion mine bait. *purr purr* I recommend doing that at least once.

And now, off to catch some beauty sleep.
